A.D. graduated from the University of Alabama in 1965 and received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration with a major in Accounting. In 1967, he graduated again from the University of Alabama with a Master of Business Administration.

In August 1974, A.D. joined in a partnership with John Yeager to form Yeager and Christian. Since 1973, he has been a member of the AICPA, Alabama Society of CPAs, and the Tuscaloosa Chapter of CPAs.

A.D. is a life long resident of Tuscaloosa County. He served in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. During that time, he was awarded a Bronze Star medal and the Army Commendation Award for his outstanding accomplishments in the war. Since then, A.D. has been involved in many Tuscaloosa/Northport organizations. He has served or is currently serving on the board of the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce, Kentuck Association of Northport, Northport Lions Club, Phoenix House Board, Northport City Council and many more. He is also an active member at Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Northport and has been for many years. He is married to Millie. He also has three daughters - Meredith, Ashley and Amy.
